The Steadfast Tin Soldier
- Reviews
The Guardian - Nearer home, in Wincanton, families with the spirit to battle through the squalls had a rich reward in the memorial hall.
Fifty children, some no more than two years old, gathered on the floor and sat enchanted for an hour by the quietest live drama this Christmas. It visits village schools and halls, and its technology amounts to puppets, a tiny ring of bells, a tin whistle and a drum.
The children were wide-eyed and open-mouthed at the story of the tin soldier with only one leg. They swayed in gleeful recognition each time the refrain came reound: "He kept his chin up and looked straight forward because he was a brave tin soldier". Their journey was worthwhile too.
